Topic-specific press

This type of press features expert comments, insight, tips and tricks or interviews on specific topics.

They herald you as an expert in your field. 

This type of press offers social proof (highlighting you as an expert – building trust), brand awareness and SEO (when they offer backlinks to your website).

They typically don’t have a short-term, quick affect on website traffic, enquiries or sales (although they can do) – but a collection of these will really pack a punch and overtime, you’ll see a meaningful increase in results.  

In particular, they are great for SEO, showing off press on you socials, website and in newsletters and getting repeatedly in front of potential customers. 

Product Press

This press features products – usually as a review, in a line-up (roundup or listicle) or gift-guide.

This type of press offers social proof (a nod of approval from publications – building trust), brand awareness and SEO (when they offer backlinks to your website).

Typically, they are great for seeing an influx of website traffic, enquiries and sales. 

It can take time to get these type of pieces, it’s a case of getting on the radar of journalists covering these line-ups/roundups/gift guides and review features for when they are covering your product type.

Service Press

Very similar to product press although this press features services – usually as a review, in a line-up (roundup or listicle) or gift-guide.

This type of press offers social proof (a nod of approval from publications – building trust), brand awareness and SEO (when they offer backlinks to your website).

Typically, they are great for seeing an influx of website traffic, enquiries and sales. 

It can take time to get these type of pieces, it’s a case of getting on the radar of journalists covering these line-ups/roundups/gift guides and review features for when they are covering your service type.
