Who do we think we are?

We’re a team of 20 or so PR & writing professionals - supported by top freelancer editors & journalists - and headed by Canadian, Riley Gardiner.

We ditched the offices in lockdown and our team work remotely (more costs saved that we can pass onto our key holders and less faces in armpits on the tube).

We have teams in Canada (our HQ), the US and UK.

We believe in a good work/life balance so our team work a 4-day work week.

We work with start-up, growing and even long-established brands in both the US, Canada & UK.

We specialise in representing experts (from tech to finance, beauty to human rights, career advice to the environment), B2C products & services and telling personal interest stories.

We work with 100s of journalists each day - from the MailOnline to the Telegraph, the Metro to Forbes.

We proudly unlock 1,000s of articles each year for our key holders (clients).

Our Founder

Riley Gardiner

Hailing from a rural part of Saskatchewan, Canada, Riley has been making his mark in the PR industry since 2018.

Riley took an unconventional path by opting out of his ‘Bachelor of Commerce’ university course after just one term. He started off as an intern writing social media content, but moved on to cover nearly every single role in the business to get a better understanding of how things come together.

Over the years, Riley has not only managed teams of over 20+ individuals but has also developed relationships with key journalists in London and New York.

His innovative approach has not only streamlined Unlockd PR’s operations, but has also played a key role in the success of multiple high-profile PR campaigns and projects.

And don’t forget puppies - Lola & Hugo!

Why are you so much cheaper than everyone else?

Our approach

It all starts with our approach, we don’t have any romantic notions about PR – we see it as a marketing tool – offering brand awareness, social proof & SEO boosts to small & growing brands.

Patterns, process & tech

Having worked with 1,000’s of key holders (clients) in the US, UK and Canada we’ve noticed patterns and we’ve used that knowledge to build out shiny processes and systems to eliminate needing lots of additional staff and to speed up getting results for clients.

It also means our team are spending their time doing the work that adds the most value to our key holders (rather than spending hours doing unnecessary admin - we let our automation robots & A.I do that).

Economies of scale

Working with hundreds of clients allows us to spread our business costs.

More opportunities

Our range & number of clients means we have regular contact with key journalists. Journalists are also aware that we have an ever-growing plethora of clients to offer content or exciting products / services to try out. That usually makes us their first point of call and gives us a direct line to pitch to them too.

Having worked on 1,000’s of campaigns for a cross section of brands – we like to think we know a thing or two too.

But most importantly – we deliver so we don’t need to hide behind strategy calls and reports

We only work with brands we know we can help.

We believe all those fancy meetings and PowerPoints are usually employed to make up for the lack of results (PR agencies have to justify their big retainers somehow). We deliver and we deliver quickly and that means we don’t need to invest time and energy into writing up reports or taking you out for lunch.

Our TrustPilot reviews and our realms of secured press speak for themselves.
